9th sun B - 1

Some years ago a young man looking for work approached a foreman of a logging crew and asked him for a job.  “It depends,” replied the foreman.  “Let’s see you take this one down.”
The young man stepped forward and skillfully felled a great tree. The foreman was impressed and exclaimed, “You can start on Monday!”
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday rolled by.  Thursday afternoon the foreman approached the young man and said, “You can pick up your paycheck on the way out today.”
Startled, the young man asked, “I thought you paid on Fridays.”
“Normally we do,” answered the foreman, “but we’re letting you go today because you have fallen behind.  Our daily charts show that you’ve dropped from the first place on Monday to the last place on Wednesday.”
“But I’m a hard worker,” the young man objected.  “I arrive first, leave last and I’ve even worked through my coffee breaks!”
The foreman sensing the boy’s integrity, thought for a minute and then asked, “Have you been sharpening your ax?”
The young man replied, “Well, no sir.  I’ve been working too hard to take time.”
The wisdom of the Sabbath rest.

First we need to sharpen our ax by resting.
Amo man ini sa tawo.  Kon waay sing tion nga magpahuway nagahabol man ang tawo. Balance
Second the day of rest should be a day for doing good.  Ano ang third commandment.  Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.  To keep holy. Go to your parish priest ukon sa iya assistant
You will also make the Sabbath holy by not doing evil especially on that day.  Indi ini tion nga mang-agaw ka sang sud-an sang iban.  Indi ini tion nga manunlog kag sang iban.  Indi ini tion nga manuya ka.  Indi ini tion nga manapungol ka – keep the Sabbath holy by not doing evil.
And last you will make the Sabbath holy by doing good to others.  What good can you do today to your brother seminarians?  May nagamasakit, then volunteer to bring food to the sick.  May luyag mag-telepono then pabusla man ang iban – indi ka magpadugay.  May bisita ka, then learn to share the food your mother left for you.  Make them happy imbes nga pa-ugtason mo sila.
So keep the Sabbath holy.  Learn to balancer your life between rest and work.  Sunday you rest.  Keep it holy by going to mass.  Keep it holy by not doing evil.  And last keep it holy by doing good.
